Nairobi, 19 Oct 2011 – HALUAN’s second humanitarian team of the Life Line for Somalia mission visited the High Commission of Malaysia to Kenya in Gigiri, Nairobi today. All three activists of HALUAN were welcomed by the Second Secretary, who is also the Chief of Chancery, Mr S Kathiravan and Third Secretary, Mr. Zahari Ghazali.



Dadaab, Kenya, 15 Oct 2011 – It had not rained here for more than two years. In fact, many of the Somali refugees’ children in Dadaab camp and Garissa town had never seen rain in their entire lives. On the fourth day of our mission to help the Somali refugees in camps near the Kenya-Somalia border, we headed along with our international NGO partners to a few nearby camps; the settlement for new refugees. Rain from the previous night caused flooding in many routes and settlements, which made it very difficult to deliver food aid.
