Israel's Right-Wing Plans Against Al-Aqsa

E-mail Print PDF

Despite international denunciation of the Israeli attempts to desecrate Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israel obstinately continues its policy of nudging extremist Jewish religious groups, albeit covertly, toward Al-Aqsa, the third holiest Mosque in Islam.

On October 24, the Israeli police stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and opened fires against Muslim worshippers who gathered inside the mosque to ward off one of  the Israeli right-wing groups' frequent attempts of storming the Mosque and performing Jewish rituals by force inside.

"The occupation forces used tear gas, stun guns, and rubber bullets inside Al-Aqsa Mosque to force Muslim prayers outside," said Hashim Yakoub, the media coordinator of Al-Quds International Institution.

"Gaza Blockade Legal?"

E-mail Print PDF

altMuch debate about the legality of Israel’s naval blockade and siege of Gaza has occurred in the U.S. media with little serious analysis of the laws. Pro-Israel spokesmen and Israeli officials like the Israeli Prime Minister’s spokesman Mark Regev have claimed their blockade and siege is legal in accordance with the “San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea.”

Few people have ever heard of this agreement and even fewer have read it. Newscasters and program hosts airing this Israeli spin certainly have failed to put the claims to the test. Instead, some have promulgated the flawed analogy between Israel’s blockade of Gaza and the United States’ blockade of Germany in WWII.

Every Exit Is An Entry

E-mail Print PDF

altI stumbled upon this line during my teenage years, at school, wondering what it actually meant, only taking for granted that it was the ‘motto’ for the school bowling club.

Back then, being quite a curious yet still naive teenager I was, the farthest interpretation that I could conjure out of my mind was to understand that the bowling ball will hit the pins, be exited from the lane, and enter a mysterious chamber that eventually, will roll it back to where it first came from.
And I thought it was cool. In fact, I still do.
The transitions of life, from phase to phase, permits us the possibility of facing endless consequences that arise from even our simplest actions, decisions, a spark of thought or perception.
In life, naturally we will face instances that require us to choose and to make decisions. Again, almost naturally, our decisions will not only affect us, but also others who are in the same spectrum. And this, my brothers and sisters, happens to everyone.
As almost similar with ‘The Law of Attraction’, the consequences of our decisions will affect everyone in the picture, and everything that are shared together-time, commitment, feelings, memories…to name a few.
……………………………
Sometimes, we are forced to an alley which we see as leading to an exit, and we thought, this is THE END.
We thought, this is it…there’s nothing left here for us.
We thought, in front us is a black, empty wall.
We thought, we must change in order to adapt.
What we commonly forget is that, there are always two flip sides of the coin.
A door will always open for two routes.
A ’something’ will always begin from a ‘nothing’.
And that every EXIT is always an ENTRY.

Into the Muslim History of China

“A-l h-a-m-d-u l-i-l-l-a-h-i R-a-b-b il-`a-l-a-m-e-e-n.” So began the recitation for Jumu`ah (the Friday Prayer). Every letter pronounced meticulously by the imam, self-consciously aware as he led the small congregation of about 20, that he is not a native Arabic speaker. The congregation was fully Chinese, mostly men over 50, but with a handful of youngsters in their early teens.

Qinjing Mosque—also known as Kylin (Unicorn), Shenyo, or Ashab Mosque—was originally built in 400 AH (1009 CE)  during the Northern Song Dynasty. It is one of seven mosques that were built in the city of Quanzhou. This city, described as Zaytun by Marco Polo, was the most famous port city of the Eastern world, and the starting-point of the maritime Silk Route.
